Today was packing day. The staff helped all the chanichim pack up this morning. After they were done everyone boarded busses to go to a local movie theater. The day consisted of a movie for each eidah and some educational programming from our chinuch staff.

Dear Parents,

In anticipation of Monday’s solar eclipse, we wanted to share with you what we have planned for camp in order to ensure the safety and well-being of all our campers.

Months ago, camp ordered NASA-approved eclipse-viewing sunglasses for every person in camp. We confirmed with numerous experts that the glasses were completely safe for viewing the eclipse, and we initially planned to give them out to campers on Monday. However, public health officials are now recommending that camps and schools keep all children indoors for the duration of three-hour period surrounding the eclipse. They have advised us that, due to reduced sun glare during this period, children may be more likely to look up at the sun for unsafe periods of time. Additionally, those children who know about the eclipse may be tempted to look at the sun to see the eclipse for unsafe periods of time. Because the NASA glasses are extremely opaque, children will not be able to safely walk around camp wearing them, and without the glasses, looking up at the sun even for a very short period of time can cause permanent eye damage.

For all of the above reasons, we have decided that, in order to ensure optimal safety for all of our campers, following packing in the morning, we will be bringing all campers and counselors to the local Honesdale movie theater for the duration of the eclipse period. Campers will be treated to a movie, and our chinuch staff will be providing educational programming about the eclipse as well. We will still be giving all campers and staff eclipse-viewing sunglasses as a souvenir and showing them the eclipse on the movie screen within the theater.

We look forward to a fun and educational “Yom Likui (Eclipse)” at camp!

Today was little bit rainy but we still had a lot of fun. Although the rain made it a little difficult to get pictures.

Chanichim from Eidah Gimmel have been studying hard all month for the chidon hatanach leading up to today’s final competition. It was intense as everyone watched the competitors answering questions.

Camp is coming to an end. We are all getting ready for our final Shabbat. We are all going to miss our friends. We can’t wait until next year.

Eidah Gimmel had a lot of fun today. We found them at kayaking, ultimate frisbee, nagarut, teva, basket ball and at the chidon hatanach.

Eidah Daled had great day. We were not able to get pictures of the boys due to the rain but we saw the girls at drama, melechet yad, tennis, high ropes and tree climbing.

Today in camp, Eidah Aleph and Kaytana learned about Teddy Kollek and his great contributions to the city of Yerushalayim. In honor of Teddy Kollek, the chanichim played a soccer tournament in our very own “Teddy Stadium”. Each team represented one of the teams of Yerushalayim.

KAYTANA
kaytana is really having a fun time in camp.Today we saw them at the Teddy Kollek soccer Tournament, taboon and teva.

EIDAH HEY
Eidah Hey left for their shmutz today, We got some pictures as they were hiking out of camp some from the campsite.

EIDAH ALEPH
Eidah Aleph is having so much fun. We saw the boys playing at the Teddy Kollek Soccer Tournament and the girls at tree climbing, chavaya Israelit, Kadarut, and Teva.

Eidah Gimmel had a great day today. We saw them at The Jurusalem Museum, playing in the gaga pit, making slime at the MAB, at drama and galgalone.

Eodah Daled had a fun day. We saw them at high ropes, biking, galgalone, chavaya israelit, tennis, beach volleyball, tree climbing, and melechet yad.

Camp was quiet today. Eidot Bet, Gimmel and Daled were all out and Kaytana spent the day at the shmutz site. Eidat Hey and Aleph had the camp to themselves.

Today was a fun day for Eidah Hey. We saw them picking herbs and making Havdalah wands at Judy’s garden. We also saw them at melechet yad, chavaya Israelitand drama.

EIDAH ALEPH
Eidah Aleph continued to learn about Shuk Machane Yehuda. They had so much fun tasting different foods and smelling the different spices. We also saw them at nagarut and galgalone.

EIDAH BET
Eidah Bet is out of camp for the next two days. they went to a science center in Allentown today and will be going to Dorney Park tomorrow. Sorry no pictures.

Eidah Gimmel went to Six Flags today. They will be back late tonight. Sorry no pictures.

Today we learned about Shuk Machane Yehuda. We learned about how it started and about different vendors. The chanichim made juice from different fruits and vegetables and they were introduced to different spices. They also made fruit roll up sushi with rice crispies ans played bongo drums.

Eidah Daled left this morning for an overnight trip.

Eidah Hey had a fun day. We saw them at kadarut, melechet yad, the MAB and chavaya israelit.

EIDAH ALEPH
Eidah Aleph had a great day. They came back from their shmutz in time for lunch and had some special peulot. They learned about shuk Machane Yehuda and had a chance to sample from different “vendors”. We also saw them at taboon, teva, MAB, archery and beach volleyball.

Eidah Bet had a lot of fun today. The girls baked cookies with our amazing baker – Beverly and we saw the boys at biking, archey and beach volleyball

EIDAH BET AND GIMMEL CHIDON HATANACH
Chanichin from Eidot bet and Gimmel have been studying all month for the chidon hatanach. We found them taking a test to see who will go on to the final on Friday.

Eidah Daled left this morning. They went to a big corn maze and to the Turkey Hill ice cream factory. Tomorrow they will be spending the day at Hershey Park and will return to camp tomorrow night. Sorry no pictures.

Today was a beautiful day at camp. It feels quiet after yesterdays marathon. Kaytana had a great first full day and Eidah Aleph went out on their shmutz.

Today was the Jerusalem marathon here at camp. Everyone had so much fun. We had 2k, 5k and 10k options. Those who didn’t want to run cheered from the sidelines. After the run we had an amazing shuk on the main migrash with ice cream, pop corn, chocolate pudding and whipped cream. Everyone was singing and dancing. It was very special.

Thank you to Eidah Daled for help make the arches that the runners ran through.

Eidah Bet did a great job building Yerushalayim and that was on display during the marathon for all to see.

Welcome Kaytana! Kaytana arrived today and will be with us until the end of camp next week.

FRIDAY MIFKAD
Mifkad on Friday was very special. We said tzeitchem l’shalom to two Moshava families making aliya. Late Friday afternoon it started to rain and we had mifkad in the pavillion.

KAYTANA
Kaytana arrived today and they are off to a fun start. We saw some of them as they got off the bus then we saw the boys at lake toys and the girls at the Jerusalem Museum.

Today was a busy day at camp. We said goodbye to Moshava Ba’ir, eidah daled came back from their shmutz and started working on signs for Sundays marathon and everyone else enjoyed  different peulot.

Eidah had a lot of fun today. We saw them at The MAB, tree climbing, U-tube, galgalone, taboon and teva.

EIDAH ALEPH
Eidah Aleph had a great day. We saw them at music, galgalone, teva, kadarut, zumba, the climbing wall tennis, melechet yad, and the MAB.

EIDAH BET
Eidah Bet had a great day today. We saw them at ultimate frisbee, melechet yad, biking, music, tree climbing, kadarut and teva.

EIDAH GIMMEL

Eidah Daled came back from their shmutz this afternoon. We found them preparing sign and things for Sunday’s marathon.
