We had an amazing First Session 2018! We learned a ton, tried new activities, made new friends and built bonds that will last a lifetime.  Can’t wait to see you all next summer!

We had a festive meal, watched a slideshow and final movie of the session and listened to Alan and Channah thank everyone who worked so hard to bring us this incredible Moshava IO summer experience.  We sang, danced, laughed and cheered!

We had a meaningful fast with inspiring programming for each Eidah throughout the day.

EIDAH HEY

Eidah Hey had two special peulot today. Time Travel:  Chanichim learned about different events throughout Jewish history relating to Tisha B’Av.    Kites for Hope: Chanichim had a short discussion about current events in Southern Israel and created kites of Hope to fly at our final Mifkad tomorrow.

EIDAH ALEPH

Eidah Aleph had two special peulot today.  Yeled L’Yeled:  In a creative chessed activity, chanichim prepared games, posters and activities for kids in the Marp as well as Scranton hospital.    Kites for Hope:  Chanichim had a short discussion about current events in Southern Israel and created kites of Hope to fly at our final Mifkad tomorrow.

EIDAH BET

Eidah Bet had a special program called Random Acts of Kindness where they wrote Thank you letters to different people around camp.

EIDAH GIMMEL

The girls had a papercutting activity with artist Micol Bayer where they discussed the balance of Kodesh and Chol in our lives and created Havdalah mats.

The boys learned about Geniza and participated in the mitzvah by burying camp’s geniza.

EIDAH DALED

Eidah Daled had a program called Human Library where they explored the life stories of different people around camp and built an understanding that each and every person has a story that we can learn from.

MIFKAD & EICHA

At this Friday’s Mifkad we had a backpack ceremony for anyone making Aliya this summer. A total of thirty backpacks were given out!  After Maariv last night each Eidah made its way down a candle lit path the the Pavilion for Eicha and Kinot.

Today was our last full day of peulot. Hard to believe First Session is coming to an end.  We had a fun day in the sun and are looking forward to our last Shabbat together!

The girls had a great day at Basketball, Tree Climbing and Taboon.  We caught up with the boys boating at the lake!

Eidah Bet had a fantastic day all around camp!

Also featured here are pictures from Friday Hafrashat Challah activity with our Israel Mishlachat staff who taught their adopted bunk about the mitzvah of taking Challah.  They made Challah and decorated the Bracha.

Today we had Intercamps with five other camps in our area: Lavi, Nesher, Mesorah, Morasha and Seneca Lake.  Each Eidah went to a different camp to play sports together! We hosted all the Machal age campers from the other camps and we had a great day!

Today we learned about different Semalim (symbols) and discussed how Israel chose a symbol for our state.  Chanichim then got creative by designing their own logos on  cookies.

EIDAH GIMMEL
Eidah gimmel had a special peulah today. They participated in a science fair where they learned about different Israeli innovations and inventions. They learned about products such as Soda Stream, and innovations in industries such as military, agriculture and computer technology.

Eidah daled had a lot of fun today. We saw them at many different peulot including kayaking, paddle boating, high ropes and taboon.
