This summer’s theme is Moshevet Achim. Achim means unity and represents the unity the nation felt this past year. Achim is also an acronym. The Mem in Achim stands for Medina. This week will represent the modern State of Israel and the fusion of all three of the earlier principles, Achrayut, Chessed/Chevra and Yesodot.

 

Today was Yom Tikva. Over the month, the chanichim of eidot hey, aleph and bet have been collecting our unique magnets, that highlight different quotes of hope for Am Yisrael, chessed organizations, army units and other ideas connected to the theme. They have been having a great time and look forward to finishing their set for a fantastic prize, Moshava swag!

 

Kaytana has the whole camp to themselves today! With everyone else out on trips Kaytana is ruling the camp with Yom Kaytana. Team Aish and Mayim are battling it out with a cupcake and up side down challenges.

 

Today we had a meaningful Tisha B’Av. Each eidah had programs related to the day and included messages of achdut, ahavat chinam, Tikva in the Future of Am Yisrael and the rebuilding of the Beit Hamikdash and more.

 

 

 

Today, the chanichim are getting ready for Tisha B’Av. Tonight the camp will come together as a camp, walking down while singing Veliyerushalayim, and will hear Megillat Eicha. Eidot Daled, Machal and Tochnit Tekuma will hear different meaningful stories in our Human Library. We hope for peaceful and meaningful days ahead.

 

Today Kaytana learned about the theme of the summer, Moshevet Achim. They heard about how each place is an integral part of Eretz Israel and had a great time hearing about how each of these places contributes to the greater whole of the country.

 

This summer’s theme is Moshevet Achim. Achim means unity and represents the unity the nation felt this past year. Achim is also an acronym. The yud in Achim stands for yesodot (foundations). It represents the basis of the connection between Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael. Hashem promised Eretz Yisrael to Avraham Avinu. Throughout history, Hashem continues to remind us of this promise, that we will be a nation living in our homeland. This is not just a promise of our past, but is a daily reminder that Eretz Yisrael is our homeland now and forever.

 

Today is Yom Tekuma. Tekuma means revival. Today Eidah Gimmel learned about the kibbutzim around the Gaza border. They heard about their history, how they were affected on October 7th, and how they are an integral part of Israel’s economy and agriculture. We hope for a full revival of these kibbutzim.

 

Today, Eidah Aleph visited our Kibbutz Fair. They learned about 5 kibbutzim in the Western Negev and how each of them contribute to the Israeli economy and agriculture. At Kibbutz Sa’ad, they enjoyed popcorn while hearing about Popli, the popcorn factory. At Kibbutz Alumim, they heard about their massive chicken coop and its contribution to the country. Then they moved on to Kibbutz Yad Mordechai where honey and olive oil are made. At Kibbutz Zikim, while learning about the avocados that are grown there, they made nachos. At their last stop, the chanichim heard about the juicers made in Kibbutz Holit and made freshly squeezed juice. It was a great day!

 

Today was Yom Am Hanetzach Lo Mefached. Throughout the summer, Chanichim have heard this phrase. They learned how Am Yisrael is a chosen nation and we are not afraid of the long journey to fulfill our destiny.
