We had a meaningful fast with inspiring programming for each Eidah throughout the day.
Eidah Hey had two special peulot today. Time Travel: Chanichim learned about different events throughout Jewish history relating to Tisha B’Av. Kites for Hope: Chanichim had a short discussion about current events in Southern Israel and created kites of Hope to fly at our final Mifkad tomorrow.
Eidah Aleph had two special peulot today. Yeled L’Yeled: In a creative chessed activity, chanichim prepared games, posters and activities for kids in the Marp as well as Scranton hospital. Kites for Hope: Chanichim had a short discussion about current events in Southern Israel and created kites of Hope to fly at our final Mifkad tomorrow.
Eidah Bet had a special program called Random Acts of Kindness where they wrote Thank you letters to different people around camp.
The girls had a papercutting activity with artist Micol Bayer where they discussed the balance of Kodesh and Chol in our lives and created Havdalah mats.
The boys learned about Geniza and participated in the mitzvah by burying camp’s geniza.
Eidah Daled had a program called Human Library where they explored the life stories of different people around camp and built an understanding that each and every person has a story that we can learn from.
At this Friday’s Mifkad we had a backpack ceremony for anyone making Aliya this summer. A total of thirty backpacks were given out! After Maariv last night each Eidah made its way down a candle lit path the the Pavilion for Eicha and Kinot.
