Today was Yom Kibbutz Galuyot. Eidah Aleph learned about the Aliyah from Baghdad, Operation Ezra and Nechemiah. They heard about how the Iraqi Jews were only able to take one suitcase and had to leave their jewelry behind when they made Aliyah. We read the book “Shoham’s Bangles” by Sarah Sassoon (https://lernerbooks.com/excerpts/27646#wowbook-excerpt/9) and heard about how her family hid their jewelry in their pitot, and brought them to Israel. The chanichim then made a Sabich sandwich, a traditional Iraqi food that was brought to Israel from Iraqi Olim.
Moshava will be continuing its very successful Kaytana program which will NOW BE A FULL 2 WEEKS and is for campers who will be completing Grades 3 or 4. Our Kaytana program is specially designed as an introductory overnight camp program for children of these ages. Children will become comfortable in the camp environment while learning to deal with the separation issues and the issues of living in a group situation. They will, therefore, be more prepared for the full Moshava experience in the future.
The main camp consists of five Eidot (divisions). 
Our Mini-Mosh program is specially designed as an introductory 4 day, 3-night program for campers who will be completing 2nd or 3rd grades in June 2024. Children will become comfortable in the camp environment while learning to deal with the separation issues and the issues of living in a group situation. They will then be more prepared for the full Moshava experience in the future. The Moshava Mini-Mosh will still feature all of the unique activities, programs and the special Religious, Zionist atmosphere that makes Moshava unique.
