Today is Yom Shuk. Shuk Machane Yehuda is one of Yerushalayim’s most iconic places. Under the British Mandate, Machane Yehuda was cleaned up and the Shuk was turned into a formal marketplace. Today, it is a bustling center, both during the day and at night. Today in camp, the chanichim of Eidah Gimmel visited Uzi Eli’s Juice Stand, taste-tested assorted pickled vegetables from Shimshon’s Pickle Center, tested their senses at Ben David spices, drank sachlev from Cafe Mizrahi and learned about the graffiti in the Shuk.
